If you have been coming to our practice long enough, there’s little doubt that we’ve discussed the concept of time-outs in person.  Not necessarily because there was a significant behavioral problem, but simply because contrary behavior is part of your child’s normal development beginning in the second year of life.  As parents, using time-out properly as one of our tools can make these behaviors much easier to deal with and allow your child to progress developmentally.  The key is proper use.  Let’s talk about it.
